Fall Faves
I thought it would be fun to periodically share the things I am currently reading, using, watching and generally enjoying. Read on for a quick list of the things I’m loving this season.
Peloton
I always feel better when I am active, I try to get in at least 30 minutes of activity everyday. I love peloton (so much that I have a bike and tread!) and love their variety of classes. I do bootcamps, tread, bike, yoga, barre and strength. They even have an “outdoor running” audio program that guides me through my runs outside. There are so many options at different levels and lengths of time that they are easy to fit into any schedule. You don’t even need actual Peloton equipment to use the app because there are so many classes that don’t use them, it’s really for anyone and everyone. Use one of my free 60 day guess passes to check it out! I truly can’t say enough good things about it.
Good Recipe Book Read
I am currently obsessed. I love to cook and I really love to Celebrate With Babs. I originally found Babs on Tik Tok and Instagram @brunchwithbabs and couldn’t help but order her book as well. There’s something to be said about having a good old fashioned cookbook with pages flagged with my favorite go-to recipes! Babs has an amazing Taffy Apple Salad recipe that I love and she also taught me how to properly hang a sweater without stretching it out. I also know how to load my dishwasher the correct way because of Babs. She is super endearing and resonates like a real grandma to me. :)
"Babs bestows upon you 100 of her family-favorite recipes—passed down from family and friends through the generations, recorded on tattered and torn recipe cards, and all stored in her old wooden recipe box. She also shares the holiday traditions her family has grown to love so you can pass them down to your family, too, and elevate all of life’s gatherings into memorable occasions.
From little party hacks and entertaining tips, hosting the holidays will become less stressful and more meaningful. Celebrate with Babs will insert itself at the center of all of your gatherings for generations.”
Kitchen Gadget
Starbucks quality at home? Yes please. This Milk Boss milk frother is amazing and only $14! I use it for my creamer in my coffee and also use it to mix my post workout protein shakes. There are so many different fancy drink options you can create and a bonus, you can use it to make fresh homemade whipped cream.
Treat Yourself
I have been loving these licorice twists from Trader Joes’s. They are so good and an inexpensive treat at only $2.50.
Thanks to a small, family-owned business in New Zealand the licorice twists are made with natural strawberry flavor, licorice extract and colored with naturally available fruit and vegetable juice concentrates, best part, no preservatives.
Fun fact: The licorice plant, a perennial herb, belongs to the pea family (that means it’s healthy right?)
Ambiance
Who doesn’t love fall ambiance in the house? Nothing is better than a getting a good fall candle burning and I highly recommend the ones sold at Amante Marketplace , made locally here in Chicago. Their winter ones are arriving soon! If you missed it, check out my Instagram post on how amazing Amante is in my new Wheaton Wednesdays series. Love this place and always love supporting local businesses and artisans.
Binge Worthy
My husband and I can’t get enough of White Lotus Season 2. If you haven’t watched it’s the perfect time of year to snuggle up and binge a show and this one should be it.
So, light your candle, froth your latte, grab your licorice twists and watch White Lotus, you won’t be disappointed.
